I found the midsole foam to be comfortable and easy on my hollow foot, even when I wore it for an extended period. This shows the quality that was put into making this piece. I put it to my first test by taking it out on a morning jog. The first thing I noticed during my jogging was the added weight of the shoe. This was not just the different feel you get when you put on a new outfit. The Vomero 18 added significant weight to the feet, making it unsuitable for running at a considerable speed. Again, I noticed that the midsole made it cushiony and could help absorb shock impact. While it’s a good thing for your daily commute or slow jogging, it could result in a loss of balance for someone on a speedy sprint.

I have put these shoes through reasonable mileage. In all honesty, I retired my Vomero 18 after a few long-distance fitness runs. Not that I didn’t wear them again—I just repurposed them for different occasions, but no longer for running.
To date, however, the shoes have maintained their feel and newness. Except for some slight wear away under the sole, which is normal due to friction and frequent use. If you use your Vomero 18 for constant running, you might end up going over 400 km, and with good maintenance, you can push it another 300 km.
I have been caught in the rain twice while wearing these shoes, and after drying them, they held up without any noticeable loosening or peeling. The topside has also held up nicely; there is no fraying or stretching. The lockdown has remained secure as it was on the first day. One surprising thing I also noticed was that, as in some plush uppers, the padding in the tongue and collar hasn’t come off yet.
For me, this durability is great value for money.

If you are a career sportsman or you do a lot of running and speed laps, I would suggest you go for the Adidas Adizero EVO SL; it is more breathable and lightweight. This alternative will be most ideal for a runner. Another option would be the ASICS Novablast 5. With its jacquard mesh upper, you should expect breathable, less sweaty feet during your runs.
